Also, I found out
what happened to that ship that came to Brazil and located a piece of it. It was called the
Dom Afonso, a 6 gun frigate. It saw action against Argentine forces that were
blockading the River Parana in 1851 (there is a painting) and later ran
aground in heavy fog at Massambab Beach, Cabo Frio. The ships wheel
is on display at the naval museum in Rio de Janeiro, 15 minutes from our
